Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70)
DnaK; 70 Kilodalton Heat Shock Proteins
Heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) is overexpressed in many kinds of tumors and is believed to be heavily involved in tumor progression. chicken HSP70 (chHSP70) xenogeneic DNA vaccine to elicit immune responses in a beagle canine transmissible venereal tumor (CTVT) model. CTVT dogs received empty vector vaccination and no treatment (CW) were used as controls. It was concluded that xenogeneic chHSP70 DNA vaccine successively breaks the tumor tolerance against canine HSP70 and exhibits promising prophylactic activity to inhibit the growth of HSP70-expressing tumor.
The 70 kilodalton heat shock proteins (Hsp70s) are a family of ubiquitously expressed heat shock proteins. Proteins with similar structure exist in virtually all living organisms. The Hsp70s are an important part of the cell's machinery for protein folding, and help to protect cells from stress.
